Ameche played 37 games in 4 years, scoring 25 touchdowns, gaining 3345 yards. His ability to play the whole game gave him the nickname "The Iron Horse." He holds game and season rushing records at Wisconsin. Ameche played as a fullback with the Baltimore Colts for six seasons (1955-1960), then founded Gino's Inc. and served as a member of the board. Alan was awarded Doctor of Humane Letters from St. Joseph's College and was Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was Corporations Chairman for the United Negro College Fund. Alen passed away on August 8, 1988. Elected to the NFF&C Hall of Fame in 1975.
