BIO: After graduating I went to U. or O. for a year and a half. I learned to fly while in high school and decided I wanted to fly in the Air Force. I joined the Oregon Air National Guard and attended Air Force Pilot Training in 1955-56. I completed training in the F-86 jet fighter and returned to Portland to fly the F-94 with the Air Guard.
In February 1957 I went to work in Oakland, CA as an air traffic controller. Unfortunately I couldn't get in the Air Guard down there and that was the end of my military flying. In June 1963 I transferred to an FAA facility near Denver. I spent winter weekends for 13 years as a ski instructor on the side. After 27 years there I moved to another facility in Miami and eventually retired in Jan. 1994.
Along the way we had two daughters and a son. Now there are eight grandchildren.

After retiring I moved to Port Charlotte, FL to enjoy sailboating and golf. I tried summer motorhoming across the country and back to Oregon. Finally figured out that all my friends and relatives were Denver and west so moved to Tucson in 1996. I heard my classmates had put me on the "No longer with us" list so I made it a point to attend our 45th class reunion to prove them wrong.
In June, 2000, while spending the summer in my motorhome in Oregon, I stopped in Redmond looking for a home. Because I wanted to play lots of golf. They pointed me to Crooked River Ranch about 15 miles northwest of Redmond. One look and I was sold. By September I pulled up stakes in Tucson and returned to Oregon at Crooked River Ranch.
The golf course has what has to be the most spectacular golf hole in Oregon. Between the tee and the green is a corner of the 400 ft. deep Crooked River Canyon. To this day the view from the tee box still impresses me (attached MVC-712x.jpg).
I have both digital and video cameras and combine that with my computer to make screensavers, transfer video to CD's (SVCD) that can be played on a DVD player and TV and archive all my photos taken over the last 50 years onto CD's. One major project is creating screensavers and still and video presentations on CD for my niece. She operates a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation facility in Pendleton - Blue Mountain Wildlife (www.bluemountainwildlife.com).
